Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your products so cheap?
VidalsPets sources its products from Australia. The drug companies sell these products outside the US at a lower price.

This together with lower overheads and through use of technology we are able to pass on these savings to our customers.

All our products are original and genuine with the longest expiry dates that are currently available.

Do I need prescription from my vet?
No. VidalsPets only sell products that are available without a prescription in Australia. Heartworm prevention medications and wormer medications are classified as over the counter in Australia. It is the pet parent/owner's responsibility to ensure that their pets are tested for heartworm prior to use of product.

What is the difference between K9 Advantix and Advantix?
K9 Advantix and Advantix are the same product with the same active ingredients and the same formula made by Bayer Animal Health Care. Vidals Pets sells the Australian packaged version thus the weights are in kilograms instead of pounds.

Here is the website for more information.  Click on link http://www.advantix.info/

Are your products the same as those sold by the vets?
Yes. VidalsPets sell the same products that are sold in the US. The products are the official versions manufactured by the same manufacturer who makes the equivalent product for the US market.

The main difference is in the packaging and the weights are in metric instead of imperial.

Why am I charged an international fee or foreign card fee as well as my payment to you?
As we are based in Australia a small number of credit card companies that charge their customer a small "international charge fee" on your purchase. This is usually 1 or 2% and we are confident that you will still be pleased with the total price of our products. If you are unsure if your credit card company imposes such a fee, you may wish to contact them.

What is a generic product?
A generic is a copy of an original brand-name product, or in the case of veterinary medicine, a generic medication is a veterinary product that has come off patent, and can therefore be manufactured and marketed by second parties. A generic medication contains the same substance as, is essentially similar, and is therefore interchangeable with a brand name medicinal product.

Why are generic medicines cheaper?
Because a generic medicine or health care product is the equivalent of an original product, the generic does not have all of the initial research and development costs. Generics also tend to be more value focused, keeping packaging and advertising simple to keep prices down.
